The Decision-Takers
In 2005 and the years that followed, Carolin Sangha and Michael Ress achieved a much-praised relaunch of the Schönbuch brand. Their mutually complementary talents generate a field of creative tension in which the company is able to make its plans for the future, comply with international market needs and develop further. Carolin Sangha, the Creative Director, has her own agency. She spent the first few years of her life in India. That country's colourful culture soon stimulated her creativity. She studied graphic art and fashion design and worked initially as a fashion editor in Munich, then later as a freelance stylist and art director for internationally active advertising agencies and other companies. As an independent creative director, she is responsible for the worldwide build-up and development of leading brands; she develops CI concepts and creates collections for leading fashion and lifestyle companies. The basis for her work is the ability to identify new trends and lifestyle patterns in the fashion and living areas at a very early stage. As Schönbuch's Creative Director, Carolin Sangha makes full use of her extensive experience in the international fashion business and her special feeling for colours and lifestyle trends. Among her responsibilities are brand promotion, corporate identity and all areas of Schönbuch's brand communication. Michael Ress, with his background in a family-owned business, learned the value of skilled workmanship and an appreciation of fine materials and modern production methods at an early stage-. For his current managerial tasks, periods spent as a bank trainee and business management studies at the European Business School were an ideal background. During foreign placements in Italy and the USA, Michael Ress familiarised himself with international management methods. As a McKinsey adviser and later an independent business consultant, he acquired the global outlook and ability to engage in dialogue with responsible executives in the consumer goods industries that have stood him in good stead ever since. Michael Ress is proprietor of Ress Möbelwerkstätten, the furniture manufacturing company that he took over step by step from his father, starting in 2004. He represents the sixth Ress generation to perform this task. Ress Möbelwerkstätten had already manufactured products for Schönbuch for some years before 2005, when Michael Ress assumed executive responsibility there.
