The Commitment

Appreciatio and charity

Schönbuch has FOLD, STICKS and STAPLE, three models from the current collection, made in the Dominikus Ringeisen workshops for handicapped persons at Maria Bildhausen monastery. In an atmosphere of dedicated craftsmanship, these workshops also produce many other model components for Schönbuch, for instance inside drawers and accessories for the HESPERIDE programme.

Providing work and activity for handicapped people is a major task to which the Maria Bildhausen monastery dedicates its efforts. Since 1897 the workshops in this former Cistercian abbey in the Lower Franconian region of Germany have pursued the task of helping disabled people to lead worthwhile lives. The workshops, which cater for a wide range of crafts and trades, currently provide work for 180 people and promote their individual talents and preferences.

Assembly and packaging are carried out as well as woodworking and wood processing. A wide range of packaging elements and all the necessary cardboard protective corners are produced for use by Ress Furniture Workshops when delivering Schönbuch furniture.

Schönbuch, Ress Furniture Workshops and Maria Bildhausen have cooperated for a number of years. Mutual appreciation of the others' efforts has resulted in close links that have a firm place in the chronicles of the Schönbuch company.

Schönbuch and the Dominikus Ringeisen workshops: successful cooperation in a spirit of trust.
