The crisp lines and coloured rectangles of the CORES bookcase call to mind the paintings of Piet Mondrian. In the version that’s designed to be positioned against a wall, sliding glass inserts on the fronts of the shelves create transparent colour accents. A further version, designed to be positioned in the middle of a room, features glass inserts front and back. These are particularly beautiful when positioned to overlap, either fully or in part, as they create new shades of colour. The shelves and solid wood side-frames of CORES have an open-pored painted finish. The bookcase comes in 2 heights (76 cm or 183 cm) and 2 colourways: Air and Fire. With Air, the glass panels are in shades of blue and grey and are complemented with black shelves and granite-coloured sides in the tall version and black shelves and sides in the lower version. The reds, pinks and greys of the glass inserts in Fire meet wine red shelves and watermelon-coloured sides in the tall version and wine red in the lower version. With or without books or ornaments, as a room divider or a classic bookcase, CORES is much more than just storage: it’s an absolute statement piece.
