Läufer & Keichel

The two designers behind Läufer & Keichel are Julia Läufer and Marcus Keichel, who founded their industrial design studio in Berlin in 2003. After studying fashion and textile design in London and Berlin, Julia Läufer initially worked for haute couture fashion houses such as Christian Dior as well as various theatre and film productions. Marcus studied industrial design, architecture and cultural history at the Universität der Künste in Berlin and has had a professorship since 2016 with the Faculty of Design at Dresden University of Applied Sciences. Läufer & Keichel’s creations have earned them numerous international design awards. In devising them, they reflect on cultural contexts and focus very much on lasting relationships between people and objects. For Schönbuch the design duo have created the circular wooden tray OLIVIA.
