Ludwig Kaimer

Smart design meets aesthetic looks – that’s the creative idea behind the work of Ludwig Kaimer. Born in the German town of Bamberg, Kaimer studied product design in Kassel. He gained professional experience with the Berlin-based industrial design studio Läufer & Keichel and the Cybex brand in Bayreuth before going on to set up his own design studio. Besides his position as senior designer with Läufer & Keichel, Kaimer is currently involved in several collaborative design projects in which his hand-crafting and passion for details drive his creativity. For Schönbuch, Ludwig Kaimer has created the TANA shelving, a homage to the beauty of architectural construction. His design was inspired by his particular fascination with shells of buildings and is intended to be reminiscent of structural skeletons.
