Molldesign

Functional design with an emotional component. That’s the credo of Reiner Moll. After graduating in industrial design at the HFG design school in Schwäbisch Gmünd, he set up his own studio there, .molldesign, in 1971. His designs range from household utensils and fittings to consumer electronics, for bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces and workspaces. Their crisp lines, practicality and clean aesthetic are standout qualities and rooted in the traditions of the Bauhaus and Ulm School of Design. “When we think about design, it needs to be so timeless that a product’s longevity becomes the primary maxim,” says Moll. Besides his design work, Moll is a member of the Design Council and the Deutscher Werkbund. He has previously demonstrated his capacity for sleek, succinct design through his 0130., 0102. and 0140. coat hangers, which he created for Schönbuch.
