Wolfgang Hartauer

Pared-back responses to age-old problems – that’s what Wolfgang Hartauer is on a mission to find. After training as a joiner and graduating from the Technical University of Munich, Hartauer became an architect and furniture designer. Following a stint as a construction manager in Munich and Freiburg, he went on to set up his own businesses, starting with richtungraum and, in 2014, Interior Things GmbH in the German town of Holzminden. His clients include various major German interior brands. For Schönbuch, Wolfgang Hartauer has created ESSENTIAL, a line of elegant, functional accessories crafted from wood.
