The NIKARA set is a very special showcase for favourite items of jewellery – like an open treasure chest. Its four parts are made of solid oak with an open-pored, painted finish in a choice of three colourways: subdued neutrals, vibrant reds and eye-catching contrast colours. Whether silver, yellow gold or rose gold, all three options work well with metals. The set consists of ring, chain and earring displays, and a matching tabletop mirror. Minimalist in design, the four items are reminiscent of building blocks and form complementary pairs: the basic triangular forms of the mirror and ring holder combine to form the block shape they were made from. The chain and earring holders form their original half-cylinder shape when placed face to face. It’s in this paired arrangement that the four parts are presented in the elegant gift box. NIKARA is the result of the debut collaboration between Schönbuch and the designer Saskia Diez. For the goldsmith and product designer, showcasing jewellery rather than hiding it away is the logical continuation of her creative work. The perfect gift idea.
